Content pillar
A content pillar is a fixed theme that a channel returns to again and again, such as product news, how-to guides, or customer stories. A channel with three to five pillars gives subscribers a clear reason to stay, and gives the owner a ready answer to the question of what to post next. Each post belongs to one pillar, so the pillars together describe the channel.
How to choose pillars
Start from what your subscribers read, not from what you want to say. Look at the posts with the most views and group them by theme. Three to five groups usually cover most of them. Name each pillar with a short noun phrase, for example "tutorials" or "release notes". A pillar that you cannot fill with at least one post every two weeks is too narrow, and you should merge it with a neighbour.
How pillars differ from a content mix ratio
A pillar says what a post is about. A content mix ratio says how often each kind of post appears, for example two tutorials for each promotional post. You need both: the pillars list the themes, and the ratio keeps one theme from filling the whole feed. Review the ratio each month against the view counts of each pillar, and move posts from a weak pillar to a strong one only after several weeks of data.
Keeping pillars visible to subscribers
A short label at the start of a post, for example the pillar name in bold, tells a subscriber at once what kind of post it is. It also shows you at a glance whether a week of posts covered the pillars evenly. Keep the label the same every time, so that a subscriber who searches the channel for it finds every post of that pillar.
How Autogram helps
In Autogram, you can write one AI instruction for each pillar and place each instruction on its own schedule slot, so the weekly calendar shows which pillar each slot serves. The generated text follows the instruction you wrote for that pillar. Autogram does not choose your pillars or tell you which one performs best on its own; you set the themes, and the analytics show the view counts of the posts.
