Ask AI
Ask AI is the in-editor panel that drafts or rewrites post and advertisement text through a back-and-forth conversation with an AI model, instead of a single one-shot generate click. You open it from the text editor of a post or ad, describe what you want, and it returns a draft you can accept into the field you were editing or keep refining with follow-up instructions in the same thread. Each thread is a session, pinned to one AI provider and one model for its entire life: switching providers starts a new session rather than continuing the old one, because neither the stored turns nor the provider's own conversation reference survives that move. A session keeps its place even after you close the dialog or reload the page, so picking up a draft later does not mean starting the conversation over.
Why sessions are pinned to one provider
A session's turns are replayed from the assistant's own stored blocks, byte for byte, and some providers also track the thread through a conversation reference on their side. Neither survives a change of provider or model mid-thread, so Autogram treats a provider switch as the start of a new session instead of quietly losing history or mixing two providers' outputs into one thread.
One session per field, not per page
A create dialog and an edit dialog for the same post do not share a session, even though both use the same Ask AI panel — each is keyed to its own owner, such as create or edit plus the post's id, so switching between them never mixes one draft's conversation into another's. The same separation applies to advertisements, which reuse the panel on the same surface.
Regenerate reuses the thread
Clicking Regenerate on a draft does not start a fresh, context-free request. It reuses the session already open for that field, so the follow-up carries every earlier instruction in the thread instead of asking the model to guess your intent from scratch each time — which is why refining a draft across several Regenerate clicks tends to converge instead of drifting.
Continuing a session from elsewhere
The Sessions page can hand a specific session back to the editor through a URL parameter, which takes priority over whatever session the panel would otherwise resume — so a Continue link always reopens the exact thread it points to, rather than whichever draft happened to be open last in that field.
