A channel boost is a Telegram feature that lets Premium subscribers donate their monthly boost to a channel, raising its boost level. As boosts accumulate, the channel unlocks progressively better perks: custom emoji reactions, colored message bubbles, custom background wallpapers, a profile badge, and a unique link format. Tracking a channel's boost count helps administrators monitor progress toward the next feature tier and frame boost requests as part of their growth strategy.
Boosts are contributed by Premium subscribers — a channel cannot buy them for itself directly. The platform also recognises boosts that originate from Premium gift codes and from public giveaways, and each of those counts for several boosts at once rather than one. A channel's level therefore reflects who its audience is as much as how many people it managed to ask.
Every boost carries an expiry date and lapses unless the person who gave it keeps their Premium subscription active. A boost level is a running total that can fall as well as rise, which makes it a poor foundation for anything the channel needs permanently. Treating a boost push as a one-off campaign therefore under-delivers: without renewals the total quietly decays.
A bot needs administrator rights in the channel to see boost activity at all. With them it receives an update whenever a boost is added, changed or removed, and it can query the boosts a specific user has given. Boosting also leaves a service message in the chat. Missing administrator rights is the usual reason boost tracking comes back empty.
