Telegram Channel Analytics Tools: What Native Stats Miss

TL;DR. Telegram's built-in statistics cover followers, views, shares, reactions and traffic sources, and they are free for admins. They do not tell you what a post earned, how your channel compares with a rival, or how several channels perform together. Pick a third-party tool by the question you ask: Popsters for public-channel benchmarking, LiveDune for cross-platform reports, TGStat for a public channel directory, and Autogram when posts, schedule and ad results must sit in one place.

Want post performance and ad results next to the schedule that produced them? See Telegram channel analytics in Autogram.

What do native Telegram channel analytics show?

Telegram's own statistics show follower growth, the share of subscribers with notifications on, and views, shares and reactions for each post. Graphs add top posting hours, views by source, new followers by source and audience language. Only channel admins can open them, and Telegram sets the minimum channel size on its servers.

Telegram's API documentation lists these metrics and graphs (Telegram API docs, retrieved October 2026). The page names no fixed subscriber minimum, and third-party guides disagree on one, so we state none. If the Statistics option is missing in your channel, the channel is likely below Telegram's current threshold.

What do native stats miss?

Native stats describe your audience. They do not describe your business. Four gaps appear fast:

  • Money. The metric list in Telegram's API documentation holds no revenue or cost figure, so ROI needs a spreadsheet or another tool.
  • Comparison. You see your own channel only. A rival's numbers need another tool.
  • Many channels. Each channel has its own screen. A network of channels has no combined view.
  • History you control. You cannot add context, such as which posts were ads or which were AI-written.

An admin with three channels opens three screens and copies numbers by hand.

Which Telegram analytics tools exist?

The market splits into public-channel tools, cross-platform suites and tools tied to your own posting workflow. The table compares the main options by what each covers and who it fits.

OptionWhat it coversBest fit
Telegram native statisticsGrowth, notifications, views, shares, reactions, traffic sourcesEvery admin, as the baseline
PopstersPublic channels by link, no admin access; subscribers, average views, engagement rate (Brand24, August 2026)Benchmarking rivals
LiveDuneCross-platform reporting, built-in scheduling, AI assistant (Brand24, August 2026); Telegram statistics with Excel export (LiveDune, 2026)Marketers who run Telegram beside other networks
TGStatFree public channel database and rankings, no channel ownership needed (Brand24, August 2026)Researching the public channel landscape
AutogramSubscriber snapshots, post table, hour and weekday averages, ad revenue, cost and ROIOwners who post and sell ads from one workspace

Brand24 sells its own monitoring product, so read its roundup as a vendor view (Brand24, updated August 2026). Check each tool's site for current features before you commit. We do not quote prices because they change.

What does Autogram add to channel analytics?

Autogram connects analytics to the posting side. It takes a daily snapshot of your subscriber count, so you can follow growth over a range of up to 365 days. It shows average views for each hour of the day and each weekday, a posts table, and a content-types chart. For ads, it shows revenue, cost, profit and ROI in USD, UAH or EUR, with the exchange rate and its date visible (Autogram analytics page, October 2026).

You can look at one channel or all of them, and compare two channels side by side. Which sections show real data depends on your plan, and you see that when you sign in. See pricing for details.

Two limits, stated plainly. Autogram does not measure clicks or cost per subscriber. And it does not pull views, reactions or forwards from Telegram: you record them yourself with the post's ad data. Report export is in development.

When NOT to choose Autogram analytics

Choose another tool when your question is outside the workflow. If you want to study channels you do not own, use a public-channel tool such as Popsters or TGStat. If Telegram is one of five networks you report on, LiveDune's cross-platform reporting fits better. If you need click tracking or cost per subscriber, none of the posting-side numbers will answer it.

How should you combine tools?

Use native stats as the baseline, because they are free and come from Telegram. Add one tool for the gap that costs you most. A channel that sells sponsored posts needs the money gap closed first. A channel in a crowded niche needs benchmarking first.

A simple weekly routine:

  1. Open native statistics and note follower change and top posting hours.
  2. Record views and ad results for the week's posts in one place.
  3. Compare your best posts by format and posting hour.
  4. Change one variable next week, such as the posting time.

FAQ

Are Telegram's built-in statistics enough?

They are enough to track audience growth and post views. They do not record revenue, compare channels or combine several channels, so a channel that sells ads usually needs one more tool.

Why is the Statistics option missing in my channel?

Telegram decides on its servers which channels can open statistics, and its API documentation gives no fixed number. A small or new channel may be below the current threshold. Only admins see the option.

Can I see another channel's statistics?

Not the private admin view. Public-channel tools such as Popsters and TGStat estimate numbers for channels you do not own, without admin access, so treat them as estimates.

Which tool is best for benchmarking competitors?

Popsters and TGStat both work from public channel data. Popsters analyzes a channel by its link and reports average views and engagement rate (Brand24, August 2026).

Does Autogram measure clicks or cost per subscriber?

No. It measures subscriber growth, per-post views you record, timing and ad revenue, cost and ROI. Use a link-tracking method for clicks.

Can I export my Telegram analytics report?

LiveDune lists Excel export for Telegram statistics (LiveDune, 2026). Autogram report export is in development.

Bottom line

Start with Telegram's native statistics, then add the one tool that closes your biggest gap: benchmarking, cross-platform reports, or posts and ad results in one workspace. To keep post performance beside the schedule that produced it, open Autogram analytics.
