Autogram for News Channels

Curated news feed

Who it's for

Editors and operators running Telegram news channels that publish many times a day and need to stay current without a person watching the feed every hour.

The challenge

News moves constantly, and a channel that goes quiet loses readers fast. Copying stories from a feed, reformatting them, and posting them by hand around the clock is exhausting and impossible to keep up at volume — especially across more than one channel or time zone.

How Autogram helps

  • 1
Point an automation at an RSS or Atom feed. Each run takes the newest entry that the automation has not posted yet and builds a post from it. Run it as often as the feed moves, because an entry that appears and is replaced between two runs is not queued. Automation workflows
  • 2
Pass each item through an AI instruction before it publishes, so the post follows your channel’s tone and language instead of raw feed text. Brand voice instructions are available on every plan, and automations need a paid plan. AI content generation
  • 3
Use the News Feed when you have no sources of your own. It is a catalogue of curated sources that Autogram chooses, and you cannot add a feed URL to it. Every plan can browse it. Drafting and publishing from it need a paid plan or the seven-day trial. Curated news feed
  • 4
Choose a posting mode for each channel. Automated mode publishes straight to Telegram. Manual mode saves a draft for you to check first, which suits stories that need a fact check. Automation workflows
  • 5
Schedule with a timezone stored on each schedule, and add several times of day to one schedule so coverage stays spread through the day. Smart scheduling
  • 6
Run several news channels from one dashboard. Each channel keeps its own schedule, instructions and posting mode. Several channels, one account

Set it up

  1. 1Connect your Telegram channel and add the Autogram bot as an administrator that can post messages.
  2. 2Create an automation and choose an RSS or Atom feed as the source, or open the News Feed to find stories by topic and language.
  3. 3Add an instruction so generated posts match your channel’s tone and language.
  4. 4Pick the posting mode. Start in manual mode so the first drafts wait for your review.
  5. 5Choose the times of day and the timezone for the schedule. Match the run frequency to how often the feed updates.
  6. 6Read the first drafts and the delivery log. Switch the channel to automated mode when the output is right.

Details worth knowing

One entry per run

An RSS automation remembers the last entry it used and takes only a newer one. It takes one entry per run, the newest. If a feed adds three stories between two runs, the post comes from the newest of them. Schedule runs at the pace of the feed. A feed that stops returning readable entries is reported as a failure and is not treated as “no news”.

Credit, length and fact checks

When you publish from the News Feed and the source requires credit, Autogram adds a line with the publisher and the link after your text. Nothing is cut to fit: if the text and the credit are too long for Telegram, the post is not published until you shorten the text. The AI writes from the title and a short summary, so open the article and check the facts.

Plans and AI budget

Every plan can browse the News Feed. Automations, and drafting and publishing from the feed, need a paid plan or the seven-day trial. A draft uses your plan’s AI budget. Browsing and publishing do not. A post made from the feed counts toward your monthly post limit.
